The decision to add a companion puppy to your family should not be taken lightly.  It is a commitment to it's proper care, attention, socialization and providing a stable permanent home for it's entire lifespan - which is an average of 10-12 years for this breed.  Just like human children, only very extenuating circumstances are acceptable reasons for not keeping this commitment. Moving, divorce, deciding to have a child "so I don't have time anymore" are not among them.  If you feel they are, then please don't inquire about adopting one of our furry grandkids.

Our infrequent litters are whelped and raised in our home the first few weeks and continue to come indoors daily for extensive handling and socialization, providing them the best possible start in life.  The pups are kept current on deworming every 2 weeks, and are vaccinated with Progard5 at 6, 9 and 12 weeks of age.  They receive a vet health check between 6-7 weeks of age.  We offer a 2 year replacement guarantee against any serious genetic disease that renders the dog unsuitable for the purpose in which it was purchased (as a companion or for show/breeding).  We are available to provide advice, guidance and moral support for the life of your dog. 

Our non-negotiable companion price is $750. Once pregnancy is confirmed, we will begin accepting $250 deposits from approved parties.   We evaluate and identify the top show potential prospects, then release the remaining puppies as companions at 8 weeks in the order of companion deposits received.  If at 8 weeks we do not have a companion puppy available of the gender or coat length you requested, your deposit will be refunded.  We will also share our selection recommendations based on your requested characteristic desires (gender, color, coat, drive) and other factors, to ensure a compatible fit with your experience/lifestyle.  We will not force an uncompatible fit just to complete a sale, as it is not in the best interest of the dog. To protect the puppies from unintentional exposure to deadly diseases, we do not allow the puppies to have visitors until after they've received their first vaccination at 6 weeks of age.

Our litters are GSDCA futurity nominated. Show prospects are reasonably priced starting at $1,000, increasing according to age, quality, training, prelims, etc, at the time of the sale. The last thing we want is a poor representative in the show ring with our kennel name on it, so just one look at our news page is proof that we DO sell our GOOD ONES.  We are thrilled that of the 6 "Melana" winners or placers in the 2007 GSDCA Futurity/Maturity, 4 are owned and reside with someone other then ourselves.  5 of the 6 winners/placers competed in the 3 largest regional competitions (Great Lakes, Northeast, and Mid Atlantic). 

We also occasionally have puppies available that were whelped and raised by other reputable breeders we co-own with on puppy back or stud puppy agreements.

 A FENCED YARD IS REQUIRED.

ALL PUPPIES NOT GOING TO PROVEN SHOW HOMES COME WITH LIMITED AKC REGISTRATION which means not to be used for breeding.  However, we are willing to co-own with novices who have a committed desire to learn and listen to an experienced mentor. 

Please Note: Unlike a commercial kennel selling pet puppies for profit, the dogs are our hobby - not our business or livelihood.  Consequently, we don't have business hours for casual "window shoppers". We work full time with typical family obligations and routinely travel to dog shows, so we appreciate your patience if it takes a few days for us to respond to your inquiry.
