Eden was purchased sight unseen in 1996 from a GSD Review word ad  based on her impressive pedigree of excellent producers.  We have never regret the day she came off the plane at 9 weeks of age to become the foundation of Melana Shepherds.  Beautiful TYPE; CORRECT, solid STRUCTURE; clean, elastic MOVEMENT, and outstanding HEALTH. 

Eden was an eye-catching, fun dog to show and despite being owned by first time novices back then, she still had many class wins, reserves, and was never out of the ribbons. Her greatest value has been in the whelping box with 4 AKC Champions, several Futurity and Maturity placers, 3 GSDCA National placers & 2002 Mexican National RWB.   Her daughter, Ch. Melana's Pandemonium, also achieved the coveted ROM title at 5 years of age, and two additional progeny have ROM qualifiers. Eden is in the pedigree of many winning show dogs all over the country - a true testament of her producing ability. 

She consistantly produced her stunning breed type, rich pigment, plush coat, dark eyes, and excellent shoulder. Best of all she's an absolute love to live with because of her gentle, sweet nature, yet able to discern when to be protective.   We are pleased to see her wonderful attributes in her grandkids and great grandkids, some of which can be seen in various places throughout our website.  

Eden whelped her last litter in March 2003 sired by GV Ch. Marquin's Xtra! Xtra!  She was spayed at 7 years of age and has been enjoying her retirement as the Queen Grandma at Melana Shepherds.  Eden turned 13 years of age on Valentine's Day 2009 and we are blessed that she is still very active, happy, and healthy.
