Hello Melissa,
Bella as we call her is doing well. She is by far my favorite shepherd. I have
enrolled her in doogie day care and she is loving being with her friends. Everyone
at the day care just loves Bella. I have not taken any good pictures of her because
she is a moving target. We have a farm that we go to on the weekends and she loves
it. She can roam and just be her. She has the prettiest prance I have ever
seen. She would have been wonderful in the show ring because she loves to
strut. I will try to forward pictures. Are the pictures of the littermates on
your website? I would love to see them. I can not stress to you how much
we love Bella and how grateful we are for her. Thank you so much for breeding such
wonderful pups.

Melissa:
I am so slow! Sorry for the delay. I have great pictures of Wolf on my new Sony camera,
but haven't time to work on them yet. So I'm sending you this shotI did on my Fuji
digital, not as good as the Sony but quicker - it's so hard to keep him still long enough
for a photo!
He's already grown as big as our poodle - weighed over 13 pounds at the vet's when we went
for his shot last week. He is fitting in so well with the other dogs. We start formal
training in a week or so - would have done it sooner but have had another arthritis flare.
I manage time to work with him every day regardless - he can now sit on command, come on
command, and almost always hits the paper late at night when I'm afraid of the stairs to
go outside(I've fallen three times down them). He eats well, plays like a tiger, and is
just the best little dog at the vet's you've ever seen - he sits beside me on the bench,
doesn't fuss, doesn't wiggle, doesn't move. Just watches everyone. He is a darling! More
pictures later. Hope you and your husband are doing well, and that puppies' mom isn't
missing them too badly. Take care.
Best, Susan

Subject: Winnie with family
Melissa,
I just wanted to let you know how well Winnie is doing. She and Rex have gotten
along fine since they met. It is funny to watch her leap completely over him while
they play. She has continued to do great with the our boys, and has no problem with
other kids walking right up to her. Her temperment is a dream, and she understood
the invisible fence within 2 days. I'm pretty sure she has only been buzzed twice,
and she retreated into the yard each time. I now see her watch other dogs and people
with interest, but never pushing the boundaries of the fence.
Thank you so much for our girl!

Subject: Max Photos
Attached are some pictures of Max. He is doing great! He sits and shakes hands
and will kennel up (sometimes) and stay (sometimes). His housebreaking is coming
along well - he usually goes to the front door when he wants to go out. He gets
along well with the Labs. Deke (black Lab) is his hero!!
I took Max to the vet August 30 for his next shot and exam. At that time he weighed
15 1/2 pounds and now he's probably about 20 pounds and growing like a weed. Our vet
said he was in great shape and he was very impressed with him.
We will keep you updated on his progress!

Subject: Our "puppy"
Melissa,
We bought a puppy from you in 1999 out of Melana's Just in Time and Black Velvet Cameo of
Bonray. Funny how time passes us by sometimes...or maybe we intentionally freeze it.
Until recently I have always referred to Kayley as our "puppy". We
have an aging pet family (12, 11, 10, and our "puppy" Kayley). I assume
because she was the youngest she never felt the "need" to take her job seriously
allowing us to always see her as a puppy until last September. Daniel's wife gave
birth to Daniel's first child, Christian Dakota. Kayley's mature side blossomed.
She became very protective of the baby, not aggressive just assertive. If
someone came to visit and held him she would insist on lying near their feet on the door
side to "stop them from making a rapid exit." She has been better than the
most expensive baby monitors pacing and whining when the the baby fussed because "we
weren't tending to him fast enough. When he began to crawl, she was right there to
nudge him the direction she thought was safest. Every now and then she rolls her
eyes as if to say can you please put him on a leash or maybe even a little time in the
crate. He is beginning to walk and it won't long before he finds his legs and starts
to run. I am confident that she will be the one to keep up with him and keep him out
of trouble. The only good pictures I have are on my cell phone but I will try to get at
least one good one to you before to long.
We were all sad to hear of Justin's passing because we had also frozen him in time and
remember him as handsome young stud. Congrats on your breeding success and best of
luck with your future litters.
Sincerely
Amy Raymond

Subject: Re: Tiger
Melissa, Tiger is doing well. He is very loyal and gental. We had him neutered
at 6 months. The only problem is keeping him out of the pool. He walks right
in, swims a couple of laps sits on the steps for a few minutes and goes on with the
rest of his day. I will take some new pictures and send them to you soon. If
you are ever in Sav. let me know and I will bring him in to work and let you see him.

Subject: Hi
Hey Melissa,
Wanted to give you a little update on Inka.
She is doing really well and has pretty much taken over the house. She is
getting along great with the cats and has even started napping with them. Her ears
of up for the most part except for the right one, which still flops over a little bit.
They just opened a dog park about ten minutes away from me and I have started
taking her up there in the afternoons when I get off work. She loves it. She
has become the favorite of everyone there. She loves running with the other dogs or
finding someone to pet her. I swear she is the most laid back dog I have ever seen.
I have a couple of phone pictures I attached you so you can get an idea of how she is
growing. I have some better ones I can send you but I dont have them here at
work.

I will try to take some this week. He is such a good boy. He is doing great! We love him
so much. He is fully house trained. His ears are up. He has only eaten one shoe
which I found this morning.....not exactly sure when he did that. I think he is going to
be my "little" protector when it comes to male dogs but he is not overly
aggressive. He and Allie play and play. He has also become a ball enthusiast like
his sister. He loves it! There is so much to tell. He has the best personality!

Subject: Our condolences
Hi Grandma,
Were so sorry to hear about your recent losses. We havent lost any
family in the past year, but certainly know the feelings of loss of people that have
always been in our lives all too well.
Ill join everyone else in saying that we wanted a dog just like Justin he was
one of the best. But then we might be a little prejudiced because weve had
three of your dogs and have thought each one of them was the best. Weve also
met some of your other dogs and know how great they were too. You really have a
knack for great GSDs.
Camille is just a delight. Well, Mike and I think that but Max might disagree.
If he could talk he would likely call her Alligator or Mosquito shes
always grabbing him by the collar or ankles. He gets her back by taking a toy
shes interested in and laying right on top of it. She wont go and try get it,
she just sits and stares at him. The two are so opposite her a
charge-ahead-run-it-over type and him a laid-back-go-with-the-flow type.
So tell us, how do you deal with a dog who just absolutely hates to have her nails cut?
You would swear we were trying to cut off her leg the way she fights us. The
neighbor kids tug and pull on her and she doesnt mind at all. We even think
about getting the nail clippers out and shes running for the hills. She may
look little but shes a big strong girl when those clippers come out.
Still hate Texas and plotting the return to Atlanta.
Our love the your kids,
Marsha & Mike

Subject: Chopper!
Hi Melissa!
Sorry for the loooooong delay in Chopper's life comings and goings, but needless to say
he's still one FABULOUS child (I mean dog). We moved over to Suwanee about three
years ago, of which half of that I've been in Iraq and Kuwait. Chopper has
faithfully stood guard over my family and home. We always refer to him as the only child
of the 4 that actually listens to mom & dad.
We've attached a couple of recent pictures...From the website it looks like things are
going great with the dogs. If the rest are as awesome as Chopper, its no wonder why!
Talk to you soon!

Subject: Maggie Mae's information
Maggie is such a sweet dog and so good with children. She reminds me a lot of her
dad Justin. The way he leaned on us and rubbed against us the day we came to your
home and got Maggie. I thought it reminded me of our cats, but then I was reminded
that Justin rubs against you and leans against you. I thought it was weird that even
though she has not been around him, she acts like him.
Everyone talks about how beautiful she is. Our neighbors have a shepherd, they had
purchased in Austin, TX before moving here. They fell in love with Maggie.
When they bought their dog, they had to sign papers saying they would have two litters of
puppies with her. In her last litter 7 months ago, they had one long haired shepherd
and they kept that one (I believe because of Maggie).
I do not think we would have gotten Maggie, if we had to bred her. We have been so
happy with Maggie and our 2 year old granddaughter loves her. The dogs you breed
have a great temperament.
People talk about their dogs having accidents in the house. Maggie never has.
I also hear stories of their dogs tearing things up in the house when they are away,
Maggie never does that. She is just perfect.
Thanks for bringing so much enjoyment to so many families.
Beverly
